Director of Youth Ministry

I was born on November 29, 1972.  My hometown is Appleton and I have lived here all my life.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin~Stevens Point with a B.S. degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology.  I have completed nine credits at Lakeland College in the Master’s of Theology program.  My husband, Mike, operates an adult family home where we take care of four wonderful, cognitively disabled adults.  We have two children, a daughter and a son, who bring us great joy everyday. What a gift from God.

After college, I had plans to go into psychology, specializing in counseling youth, however, God directed me down this path into ministry.  I have been in youth ministry for over 20 years and love it.

I enjoy spending time with my family, especially our children.

The Confirmation program is for youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  Youth are confirmed at the end of their 8th grade year.  It is a three year program that consists of lessons, fellowship and service.  After the 3 years of Confirmation, the youth will publicly renew the baptismal vows that their parent's made on their behalf.  We want them to fully understand what this means when they are confirmed in their faith.  And, we feel that this Confirmation program at Christus does exactly this and more.

Our Confirmation program meets on Wednesday evenings.  A typical evening begins with a time of fellowship around a meal.  Then, all the youth meet together in the Sanctuary where our time is opened with prayer and worship.  The Pastor and the Director of Youth Ministry engage the group in a lively lesson.  Then, the large group is divided into small groups based on their grade and gender.  This group is led by two adults, called "mentors", who further engage the youth in small group questions derived from the topic.

We feel strongly that fellowship and service events need to also be part of the Confirmation program.  Throughout the year, the youth participate in fun fellowship events and learn to be servants of Christ through service projects.
